Trees Available for Planting in East Oakland

Are you interested in seeing more trees in East Oakland?
Sierra Club recently received a significant grant to plant trees in East Oakland, generally below MacArthur from Fruitvale to the San Leandro border. They will also provide everything needed to get the trees off to a good start, including stakes, soil amendment, mulch, technical assistance, and even help digging holes if needed. All you have to do is agree to take care of (water) the tree until it’s established.
If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact Sierra Club volunteer Arthur Boone at arboone3@gmail.com
Please spread the word to anyone who may be interested in a tree!

Yes indeed, there are more trees coming to Oakland! But they are designated for certain areas. This still includes East Oakland, among others. If you want to see if your neighbor’s location qualifies, please contact Sierra Club volunteer Arthur Boone at arboone3@gmail.com
