Thanks for Planting Trees in San Antonio Park.

We want to give a big shout out to the more than 50 volunteers, young and old, who came out for today’s tree planting event in San Antonio Park, in East Oakland. The Keep Oakland Beautiful Flash Mob and other volunteers came out in force to dig holes, plant, and water numerous trees around the perimeter of the park.

The event was sponsored by The Sierra Club Tree Team, Oakland Parks & Recreation Foundation, and Keep Oakland Beautiful, who jointly received a grant to plant 1,500 trees in East Oakland over the next three years. The grant is administered by CALFIRE (California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection).
