Save the Date: September 19 is Creek to Bay Day

September 19 @ 9:00 am12:00 pm

Oakland Creek to Bay Day is part of California and International Coastal Cleanup Day, the largest volunteer day in California and the world!

In 2014 approximately 1,000 Oakland volunteers removed over 500 bags of trash and over 150 cubic yards of invasive weeds from Oakland’s creeks and bay shoreline.  Worldwide 560,000 volunteers in 91 countries removed over 16 million pounds of trash along 13,000 miles of beaches and inland waterways.

Join thousands of volunteers to clean and beautify Oakland’s creeks, shorelines and Lake Merritt.  Volunteers will pick up litter, remove invasive plants, and/or plant California native plants.  Please wear long pants and sturdy closed-toed shoes.  Individuals can drop in, but groups of ten or more should pre-register with the site coordinator.  Learn more and register at

Please join Keep Oakland Beautiful volunteers at one of our two sponsored Oakland Creek to Bay sites:

1. Arroyo Viejo (meet at the end of Krause Ave, just past 77th Ave.)
2. Jingletown (meet at 300 block of Derby Ave, at water’s edge.)

We look forward to seeing you there to help us Keep Oakland Beautiful!
