‘Litter Is Bad’ multimedia campaign
Campbell Ewald, one of the premier marketing communications agencies in the U.S., created the “Litter is Bad” campaign for Keep Oakland Beautiful. Originally a series of edgy posters placed at West Oakland bus shelters, the campaign has grown into new channels including TV spots, billboards, e-cards and social media platforms Facebook and Pinterest. “Litter is Bad” paints litter as a sinister and despicable character who lives to injure wildlife and drive down property values. It is meant to be shocking–outrageous even–but ultimately compelling and inspiring positive action to run litter out of town.
